Westminster International University in Tashkent took part in the 1st Uzbekistan–Germany Universities Forum held in Berlin, Germany. The event serves as a key platform for expanding academic cooperation, strengthening research partnerships, and enhancing international connectivity between universities of both countries.
As part of the programme, Rector of WIUT Komiljon Karimov delivered a presentation on “International Collaboration in the Higher Education Sector: case of WIUT”. He highlighted WIUT’s experience in developing global academic partnerships, integrating innovative teaching methods, and fostering university–industry cooperation to support student success in an increasingly globalised environment.
Throughout the Forum, participants discussed opportunities for joint educational initiatives, academic mobility, and collaborative research in areas such as digital technologies, sustainable development and advanced engineering fields.
Within the framework of the Forum, WIUT and the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Development in Transition Economies concluded a memorandum to jointly conduct scientific and practical research in Uzbekistan in 2025–2026, with a focus on rural development, farming management, and applied innovations.
The event marked an important step towards expanding long-term academic and scientific cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany.
